Future Rain (working title) will be a 30 minute live cinema performance and interactive installation that features a vibro-acoustic bed, newly modified to work as a guitar amplifier so that audiences can hear, see and FEEL the. Sonic objects are arranged around the space, past and recent castings, that when touched trigger video or audio tracks via VJ & DJ software and capacitive sensors. Video sources includes live footage from the Farallon Islands, Lake Tahoe, CA, NV, Whatcom County, WA and graphic data from NOAA, NASA, Probablefutures.org and Ourworldindata.org. Proposed work includes updated sculptures for interactivity, a new song cycle based on the history and future of rain and a new data quilt inspired by precipitation projection models.
Future Rain was first conceived and supported by the Arab.AMP SPARK artist residency at the Temescal Arts Center in Oakland, 2026.
