Touch Board Demo at Western 11/11
I’ve been playing around with Touch Boards for the past few years and now getting ready for an upcoming solo show at Jack Straw Cultural Center in Seattle, I’m doing it again. This time I’ll be using the Touch Board to turn my sculpture into an interactive midi “keyboard.” Because I believe that the best way to learn is to teach [maybe it’s a bit backwards but a deadline always helps!] I’ll be giving a Touch Board workshop this Friday, 11/11, from 2 - 3:30PM at the Art Annex, future home of the STEAM Center, @ Western Washington University.
Turns out, if you have even just an iPhone that can run Garageband, you can plug in a circuit board and make a midi keyboard out of almost anything conductive. Graphite paint, wires, fruit, house plans, metallic thread! If you’d like to reserve a Touchboard please RSVP. Bring along an IOS device with Garageband installed and your imagination! We’ll also dip a toe into coding with Arduino.
Friday, 11/11 Art Annex, Western Washington University, 2PM - 3:30PM.
RSVP to reserve a workstation. Or just come to watch and learn!
