Originally constructed in 2006 and further modified in 2008, Pocket-house is an architectural fantasy exploring ideas around affordable housing, ownership and land-use. The one person shelter pod can be easily moved by a single individual with a small pick-up truck. Pocket-house was built by cold bending techniques and features such off-the-grid amenities as a portable stereo system, LED lighting system (flashlight), plant shelf, work desk and guest nook. The curved leaf can be pushed in, resulting in a compact, crate like system for living where you can take "home" with you, wherever you go. The creation of Pocket-house was funded in large part by a fellowship from Kala Art Institute.
